ARAMIS

Aramis, the collaborative electro-pop alternative artistic project led by Urhiel Madran-Cyr, blends ambiguous sounds and captivating narratives. Born from a desire for expression and storytelling, Aramis transports its listeners to an imaginary universe with catchy melodies and retro-futuristic rhythms. Urhiel, immersed in music since childhood, founded Aramis during college with two friends. After years as a group, numerous performances, and three EPs, he now continues the project solo. His debut solo EP, Pour éviter les commotions, released in June 2020 (co-produced by Borza Ghomeshi), garnered media attention and public acclaim. The project was featured at events such as the Francouvertes, Pop Montréal, and heard on La semaine des 4 Julie and Tout le monde en parle. Additionally, three music videos received warm receptions.

In February 2022, Aramis unveiled their first album—an imposing work rich in emotions and contrasting dynamics. Throughout this album, Aramis delves into solitude, love, rebuilding after disappointments, fears, obsessions, and dependencies. Urhiel’s honest, vulnerable, and liberating lyrics complement the unique instrumentation. The album offers a personal and critical perspective on toxic masculinity and the societal norms imposed upon us. Acclaimed, it earned Aramis a pre-nomination at the Adisq, positive reviews, and notable performances, including M pour Montréal and the launch at La Tulipe.

Urhiel Madran-Cyr is now preparing to release the collaborative project Courtepointe, a mixtape produced by various different producers. On this album, Urhiel lends his voice and delivers stronger-than-ever lyrics and performances. The audacity and diversity of the producers and collaborations promise a captivating musical journey, where sounds intertwine and emotions resonate. Courtepointe is set to be a unique exploration of varied musical universes, fueled by Urhiel’s authenticity and creativity.
